Meghan Markle once made a bold claim about the late Queen Elizabeth II after sharing a three-word verdict on their relationship. In an unerathed interview with US magazine Variety, the Duchess of Sussex, 41, said she had been thinking about her first joint engagement with the departed British monarch in June 2018, the opening of the Mersey Gateway Bridge in Widnes, Cheshire. The structure links the towns of Runcorn and Widnes in Cheshire across the River Mersey. The two royals also visited Chester's Storyhouse Theatre that day.

Her Majesty wore a green outfit in honour of Grenfell Tower fire victims on the first anniversary of the tragedy. Now, Meghan says she appreciates the time she got to spend with Queen Elizabeth, adding that the pair had a warm relationship. “I’ve reflected on that first official engagement that I had with her, how special that felt,” she said. in a three-word verdict on how she feels about her relationship with Queen Elizabeth, she then added: “I feel fortunate.”

The Duchess also boldly claimed: “And I continue to be proud to have had a nice warmth with the matriarch of the family.”

She then hinted that the late sovereign’s passing had been troublesome for her husband Harry.

Megan said of the aftermath: “It's been a complicated time, but my husband, ever the optimist, said: ‘Now she's reunited with her husband.’”

It comas as the Duchess took to her Instagram earlier today to share clips of her family enjoying breakfast.

“For my loves,” Meghan wrote, as she showcased a meal consisting of pancakes, bacon, fried eggs and fruit.

In one of the clips, she can be heard saying: “Breakfast time, go!”

“A special gift ‘papa brought back from Ukraine,’” the former Suits actress captioned the third video, which featured her daughter Lilibet, 3, passing a piece of vanilla cake with white icing and sprinkles to her father.
